Spring Spotlight Celebration

Join the SVP Seattle community over beverages and appetizers to celebrate our graduating Grantees, United Indians of All Tribes, and Washington Building Leaders of Change. We’ll also hear a keynote from Microsoft’s Amy Liu, sharing her insights on the future of sustainable urban development. The Spring Spotlight Celebration is hosted at the Daybreak Star Cultural Center in Discovery Park, Seattle.

Keynote Speaker

Amy Liu is Director of Human Services and Affordable Housing Initiative in Washington State at Microsoft. In that role, she helps lead Microsoft’s Affordable Housing initiative and also oversees philanthropic grants in Washington State. Amy’s career has spanned many industries and types of organizations, including the public, private and non-profit sectors. Amy is a recovering attorney with a wide range of work experiences, including working in an urban school district, the mortgage finance industry, law firms, a Presidential campaign, and a statewide education advocacy organization. She is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan with both her undergraduate and law degrees. She has been an avid angler for most of her life and has recently committed to learning to fly fish.

In 1975, the City of Seattle’s 1% for Art Program allocated $80,000 for the Daybreak Star Center for an original collection of Native American Art across cultures. Native American artists were selected through a national competition to create a group of works representative of contemporary India and Alaskan Native art from over 360 tribes in North America. Enjoy hearing about the art collection from one of United Indians staff, Jose.
