How do we resource and build movements that win?
Join Social Venture Partners Seattle for the first event in our 2025–2026 Momentum Speaker Series, featuring Vanessa Priya Daniel, author of Unrig the Game: What Women of Color Can Teach Everyone About Winning (Random House, 2025).
Through a keynote talk and conversation with SVP Seattle Executive Director Emiko Atherton, Vanessa will explore how funders, nonprofit leaders, and advocates can “unrig” philanthropy—by recognizing and valuing the leadership of women of color and investing in the grassroots infrastructure that uplifts our communities.
Date: Thursday, December 4, 2025
Time: 6:00–7:30 PM
Location: The Centilia Center at El Centro de la Raza
Tickets: Sliding scale $5–$100
*SVP Seattle offers a sliding scale, as we believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to participation. Tickets purchased at $25 and above include a copy of Unrig the Game.

Vanessa is an organizer and award-winning leader for racial and gender justice. The heart of her work is supporting social justice leaders and philanthropy to build the grassroots power it takes to win a multiracial, feminist democracy.
Unrig the Game: What Women of Color Can Teach Everyone About Winning (Random House, March 4, 2025) draws on interviews with 45 of the most powerful women of color movement leaders of our time, as well as Vanessa’s own experience as a leader, organizer, and funder. It offers effective women of color leaders and everyone who supports them a playbook for unrigging the game so we can all win.
