Story Spotlight

Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI)

Since 2022, SVP Seattle has partnered with the Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI), engaging in multiple projects to grow their capacity and support their mission.
For example, Steve Hill has mentored RAI’s Executive Director, Ming-Ming Tung-Edelman, while Alexa Carver has assisted RAI’s board with growth and development. Norm Bontje has provided financial advice to help secure RAI’s stability, and an Amazon Fellows team developed a comprehensive growth strategy for the organization.

Amazon Fellow Stephiney Foley reflected on her experience, saying, “Philanthropy is a personal journey. It’s about finding causes that you’re passionate about and making a difference in your own way… I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the philanthropic community. It’s an amazing way to make a difference in the world.”
