Jane Harvey

SVP Partner

Jane Harvey is an attorney and community advocate, who is energized by community-based efforts at the intersection of equity and the environment.  At the Sightline Institute, Jane focuses on democracy reform and served on the policy and legal drafting teams for I-122, the Honest Elections Seattle Initiative.  She is co-chair of the EnviroCAT and was a member of the first cohort of SVP Conservation Fellows, in 2013.  Jane also advises and serves as development chair of Front and Centered, a statewide coalition of racial and economic justice organizations working for equitable, community-initiated solutions to environmental issues.

Jane started her post-college career working for non-profit organizations in Vermont and Washington D.C.  She has a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and an LLM from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.  Jane spent the first part of her legal career practicing water and land use law at Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson and at Stoel Rives LLP.  She left law firm work to return to non-profits in 1999, co-founding Community and Parents for Public Schools of Seattle and serving on a number of education boards, including Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT and the Evergreen School in Shoreline.  Jane also co-chaired Seattle Women for Obama in 2008 and 2012.

Jane and her husband, Charlie Curtis, have two teen-aged children who share their love of the mountains, the ocean, and adventure.
