Carey Crutcher Smith is currently Lead Partner for EarthGen (formerly known as Washington Green Schools) which was awarded an SVP grant in 2017. Since then, the organization has grown and flourished with a more professional and diverse board, increased funding, and a new brand name and identity.
Professionally, Carey has led several corporate marketing teams, most recently for Lease Crutcher Lewis, regional general contractors. At Lewis she created a Community Relations program that oversaw the company’s philanthropy and increased employee engagement with local non-profits. Prior to that, she was VP of Marketing for the NW Region, Verizon Wireless.
Her passion for sports led her to take an early career job with the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. She worked in venue planning and development and was the Assistant Venue Manager for the field hockey competition.
Carey completed the Leadership Tomorrow program in 2004 and has been active on the boards of the Design Build Institute of America NW Region, Girl Scouts of Western Washington and Lakeside School. She currently serves as board chair for Lakeside and is on the Downtown School Advisory Committee.
A Seattle native, Carey enjoys active outdoor sports such as biking, tennis, golf, and boating. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Princeton University. She lives in Redmond with her husband Dave, and they have two daughters.
