Sasheem is the manager of a behavioral health program and an active volunteer. As a very young adult, Sasheem benefitted from foundational internship experiences at the San Francisco Department of Children Youth and Families, and as an Everett Public Service Intern at Community Resource Exchange in Manhattan. For the past 25 years, Sasheem has supported and staffed organizations serving the public good, in educational, arts and tech organizations in the U.S., as well as those promoting human rights, women and citizen journalists locally and abroad. Sasheem has been on the staff of trade and non-profit publishing institutions, and volunteered for literary organizations. During the last decade on the West Coast working in behavioral health, she has been affiliated with community based clinics, had a psychotherapy practice, and frequently interfaces with higher education training programs, crisis and medical systems in Washington.
Sasheem is a graduate of Vassar College and received a counseling credential from Antioch L.A. Sasheem has called the San Juan Islands and Brooklyn ‘home’ and is always happy to hear about gardening.
