Chris joined SVP in 2001 as an alternative to another graduate degree and found a collaborative, like-minded community that has challenged and improved his thinking ever since. His initial engagements were in the early care and education programs, and he served as SVP’s lead partner for the initiatives that eventually led to WA state’s Department for Early Learning as well as the Thrive public-private partnership. Chris later participated in SVP’s early advocacy and policy efforts, portfolio grant committee, and served two terms on the SVP board. Chris says he always feels “lucky to be at the table” with SVP and community partners and considers the partnership to be one of the most formative activities of his adult life. Chris and Heidi are lifelong PNW residents and have two young adult children.
