About us

Social Venture Partners Seattle (SVP) is a cross-race, cross-class, cross-cultural community that gives, volunteers, learns, and acts together to create a just and equitable King County. SVP partners with non-profit organizations through our capacity-building and grantmaking work to uplift and center the participation of BIPOC-led and -serving nonprofits leading the way toward a more just and equitable future.

Basilica Bio is an environmental justice community organization. Their Black-led and majority-women team has a wide range of expertise including environmental science and toxicology, cancer biology, public health and infectious disease, and more. Their team promotes health equity in communities disproportionately impacted by environmental issues with programming centering curriculum development, science communication, community leadership building, and food distribution.

This Spring, SVP and Basilica Bio piloted a cohort, called the Climate Justice Grantmaking Collaborative (Collaborative), to learn about and support climate justice in King County. The Collaborative is seeking one local organization to partner with to advance climate justice and equity in King County. Members of the Collaborative include people representing local non-profits, young and emerging leaders, and professionals in law, business, and science. The Collaborative’s Advisory Council, which provides strategic advice to the cohort, is comprised of leaders in climate justice.

The Collaborative is now inviting organizations working on climate justice in King County to apply for a multi-year partnership with SVP Seattle. This partnership includes a multi-year grant and the opportunity to collaborate with SVP’s community on initiatives, such as capacity-building projects and advocacy efforts. As this is a pilot program, only one partnership is available at this time.
