SUMMARY:Reciprocity Ring
DESCRIPTION:The world feels heavy right now. But when we practice reciprocity—sharing our needs and resources—we realize just how rich we really are. SVP is hosting a series of Reciprocity Rings for the SVP community\, facilitated by Dr. Julie Pham\, where we’ll connect\, practice vulnerability\, and strengthen our community. People are invited to make Asks and Offers related to Time\, Treasure\, Talent\, and Ties.  This is a safe place for you to make “asks” like: “I need a place for a solo writing retreat in the Seattle area for a few nights next summer\,” “A referral for an experienced cat-sitter\,” and “Feedback on my nonprofit’s strategic plan this winter.”  If you’re not sure of what you can offer\, here are some examples: “Advice on accounting for non-profits\,” “Tips on how to organize your Email inbox\,” and “recommendations on traditional Korean restaurants in Seattle.” What to Expect at Each SessionNetworking and connection with the SVP communityA skill-building exerciseWriting and sharing your Asks & OffersSession Dates (5:30–7 pm)Oct. 30 (Thurs): How to recognize obstacles to asking for help Feb. 10 (Tues): How to make a SMART askApril 29 (Wed): How to say “no” with a counteroffer \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register for Session One\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Each session is limited to 25 participants.  The Reciprocity Ring is an exercise developed by sociologist Dr. Wayne Baker and Cheryl Baker.
